A Message from Founding and Managing Partner,
W. Mark Jump

Welcome to Jump Legal. I hope you find this website helpful and that the information you find here puts your mind at ease.
With more than fifteen years experience in bankruptcy and debt resolution law, I know that financial trouble can be overwhelming and truly painful. I also know that with the right financial solution, you can put these problems behind you and move on to a brighter future.

Our firm is composed of a highly trained team of talented, experienced, and caring attorneys who work diligently on our clients’ behalf. I am proud of our attorneys and staff and of our reputation among our clients, attorneys, Judges and Trustees and the Central Ohio legal community. Although we are one of the largest debt resolution law firms in the area, our ratio of attorneys and staff per client is considerably higher than any firm in the area. This allows us to provide an uncommon level of personal attention to each client’s situation and allow us to more fully understand our clients’ needs and goals. We understand that no two clients or cases are just alike.

If you would like to know more about your options for resolving your debt problems, please contact our office to schedule a free appointment with an attorney.

Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy

We are a Debt Relief Agency and have experience helping individuals and families in the Columbus, Ohio area file for relief and protection under the bankruptcy code. We have experience in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 and are well versed in the new requirements of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, enacted on April 20, 2005 and effective on October 17,2005. While the new law has created new requirements, many of the benefits of bankruptcy still exist and the new law is actually beneficial for some Chapter 13 filers.

Mortgage Loan Modification / Foreclosure Prevention for Ohio Homeowners

If you are having trouble paying your mortgage payments and you are concerned about foreclosure, contact our office and schedule a free consultation with an attorney to find out more about loan modifications. We have experienced attorneys who will work to lower your mortgage payments. Contact our Columbus, Ohio office to find out if you qualify for President Obama’s HAMP program which lowers mortgage payments. If you are not eligible for HAMP, you still may be eligible for other mortgage loan modification programs. If you own a home and reside in Ohio (in any county in Ohio) we can help you with your loan modification.

Recent News: President Obama to Forgive Underwater Mortgages Through Fannie and Freddie?

According to a recent Reuter's commentary, many in Washington, D.C. believe the Obama administration is about to order lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to forgive a portion of the mortgage debt of millions of homeowners who owe more than what their homes are worth. Currently, an estimated 15 million U.S. mortgages, one in five, are underwater. The bailout could be part of the Home Affordable Refinance Program, or HARP, a sister program to Obama’s loan modification effort (HAMP). HARP was just extended through June 30, 201. Contact an attorney in our office to find out if you are eligible to lower your monthly mortgage payments.

Debt Settlement

You may retain our firm to negotiate a debt settlement without filing for bankruptcy. For some individuals, filing for bankruptcy may not be the best option. Our attorneys have been successful in resolving unsecured (i.e. credit cards, collection accounts) for only a percentage of what is owed. During your free consultation with a Jump Legal attorney, at any one of our Central Ohio law offices (Columbus, Zanesville, Delaware, Lancaster) the attorney will go over all of your debt resolution options with you, so that you can make a fully informed choice about your financial future.
